Fresh Impact!: Fashion trends in Japan right now
October 24, 2009 at 2:26 pm | In fashion, inspiration board, japan | Leave a CommentI’ve been working hard on Polyvore attempting to explain current Japanese trends. I wanted to focus not on the media darlings (gothic Lolitas, Harajuku girls, chic Shibuya models with Swarovski-encrusted Hello Kitty keitais…) but on the “everyman” trends I see on young people and in all of the clothing stores here.
Of course, the images I see in the media are just as unattainable and hyper-glamorous as they are in America, but I will post more disturbing/interesting trends/media circuses later. For now, enjoy a board of things I could probably find you at the nearest department store. I named it “Fresh Impact!” after the ubiquitous Engrish trucker hat… I call the beauty look “Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen” and the fashion look “Avril Lavigne.”
